Yes, in celebration of the start of our 42nd season, The Dance Center is launching our first-ever blog. It’s dedicated to news, writings, visual content and whatever else we can think of that will help connect our dance artists and their ideas with our audiences and the many communities and organizations with whom we partner in Chicago and beyond. We’ll do things like post program notes in advance, track and report on the residency activities of our guest and Chicago-based artists and companies, and bring our readers and patrons information and insights into the various dance works you can see on our stage. Our hope is that you’ll use the blog as a resource for learning and discussion about dance in general and the dancing that we bring to the city and our stage in particular.
We welcome your help and suggestions as we learn how to make this a valuable online presence. Meanwhile, watch for an upcoming post that will give you a sneak preview of the program notes for our opening event, Stephen Petronio Company of New York City. They’re performing October 1, 2 and 3, starting (note our new curtain time) at 7:30 PM. We’re so excited about their return to Chicago!
